Audio based remote control functionality for Lectrosonics SM series transmitters
How does it work?
Lectrosonics SM series transmitters respond to specially coded audio that carries parameter data generated by the LectroRM app. That code is generated in accordance with the setting you select in LectroRM. Play the generated sound into the microphone attached to a remote control enabled Lectrosonics transmitter to change settings without physically touching the transmitter itself.
What can I control?
All remote enabled transmitters support four basic controls:
- Audio Level
- Frequency
- Sleep Mode
- Lock Mode
Newer transmitter models support these controls:
- Transmit Power
- Low Frequency Rolloff
- LED On/Off

What is LectroRM?
LectroRM is a remote control for many popular Lectrosonics transmitters. It works by playing a sound that has been encoded with data that the transmitter can interpret when it is adequately received by the attached microphone.
How do I use the app?
LectroRM is divided into pages that correspond to settings that can be changed with the remote. On each page, a number of options can be selected for that setting. Once the desired setting is selected, the tone can be generated. However, to prevent accidental changes, there is a safety mechanism in place. On iPhone, the "Arm" button makes the "Activate" button appear, which then generates the tone. On Android, the "Activate" button must be long pressed for the tone to be generated.
I hear the tone but the transmitter doesn't respond
Remote control must be enabled on the transmitter for control tones to be received. Please check your Lectrosonics manual for configuring your model of transmitter.
Some settings work but not others
Not all models support all remote control commands. All transmitters will update their screen when they successfully receive a command. If the command is not supported "-------" will appear on the screen.
Some tones do not select the correct frequency
If you are using a wideband transmitter, the correct wideband block must be selected in LectroRM. These start with a letter (eg "A1")
The tones aren't always interpreted by the transmitter
Remote control commands are subject to interference from sources of noise. In particular, reverberation limits the distance at which a remote control tone can be received.
Can I store my settings?
Yes, LectroRM provides a simple memory for some settings for easy recall. These are kept in the left slide menu accessed by the top left button.
